Week One Blog Entry: Introduction

Hello everyone. My name is Anita Thomas. I am a transfer student from Salem College in North Carolina. I am pursuing a double major in Public Policy and Chinese. I plan on transferring to Virginia Military Institute Fall of 2013 after I complete my Associates Degree from NOVA. I am commissioning in the U.S. Army upon completion of Reserve Officer Training Corps or ROTC. My degree in Public Policy and Chinese will allow me to serve as a Public Affairs Officer in Chinese provinces and regions. A Public Affairs Officer acts as a liaison between military operations and the region which they are taking place in. I am taking Principles of Sociology to gain a better understanding of social life and how it directly relates to our everyday lives.
